Pharmacy Technician - Specialty

About the role

Rightway is building a new to the world PBM model to help clients manage pharmacy spend and make drugs more affordable for their employees and dependents. The Specialty Pharmacy Technician / Specialty Pharmacy Guide (CPhT) is a member of the Rightway PBM Clinical Operations team and will support our Specialty Clinical Pharmacists to engage members with the pharmacist in the family approach through phone, email, and chat. The role emphasizes concierge level service, clear communication, and adherence to regulatory and privacy standards.

What you'll do

• Direct member and provider contact for specialty benefit information and prior authorizations via multiple channels.
• Before medication receipt, support enrollment in specialty management programs, coordinate prior authorizations with the UM team, and assist with billing questions.
• After receipt, follow up to ensure satisfaction, connect with a pharmacist for clinical questions, and coordinate refills.
• Field questions on benefit design, formulary coverage, costs, prior authorization criteria, claims adjudication, and patient assistance; resolve issues.
• Support Specialty Clinical Pharmacists with outreach, including scheduling appointments, enrollment in assistance programs, and medication adherence support.
• Help ensure operating and productivity standards, conduct quality reviews of calls and chats, and uphold regulatory and privacy standards.

What they're looking for

• Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
• 1-2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a Specialty pharmacy, PBM, health plan, or similar managed care setting.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Detail oriented, adaptable, empathetic, and a critical thinker who can dig to root causes and provide concierge level service.
• Knowledge of pharmacy claims adjudication and benefit designs or terminology; able to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently.
• Extra credit: bilingual preferred (Spanish).
