Staff Software Engineer, Startup Products

About the role

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The Startup Products team builds Stripe Atlas and other products that help founders start and run a company from anywhere in the world. As a Staff Software Engineer on Startup Products, you will define the technical strategy, lead major 0→1 initiatives, and work with cross functional partners to ship simple, trustworthy experiences for founders.

What you'll do

• Define and drive technical strategy across Startup Products, connecting near-term delivery to a durable engineering vision.
• Lead large, ambiguous 0→1 initiatives from problem definition through production launch and iteration.
• Design, build, and maintain polished user experiences, reliable backend services, APIs, and systems.
• Identify technical risks and dependencies early, creating incremental plans to de-risk the roadmap.
• Work directly with founders and cross-functional teams to translate complex legal, financial, and operational workflows into intuitive products.

• Demonstrated experience defining and delivering large, ambiguous software initiatives from early exploration through production launch.
