Risk Operations Analyst - SSO

About the role

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The Strategic Supportability Operations team sits within Risk Operations and User Policy Operations. As a Risk Operations Analyst on SSO, you will investigate complex gray-area user cases, develop custom risk-based recommendations, and help improve processes and tooling across Risk Operations.

What you'll do

• Investigate complex, high-risk gray-area user cases with deep risk judgment.
• Navigate ambiguity and develop evidence-based solutions where standard frameworks do not apply.
• Identify systemic trends across cases and propose scalable risk mitigation strategies for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Risk Operations, User Support, Risk Partnerships, Legal, Compliance, and Product to implement holistic risk solutions.
• Engage directly with users in difficult or sensitive conversations, balancing regulatory needs with user experience.
• Build and maintain documentation, procedures, and playbooks to support scalability.

• 5+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, fraud, financial operations, or related field in a fast-moving environment.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate gray-area and non-binary decision-making in complex risk environments.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize multiple data sources into a coherent risk narrative.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally and driving alignment across teams with competing priorities.
• Ability to engage directly with users with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.
• Comfort with ambiguity and fast-paced, evolving environments, with strong written and verbal communication.
