Frontend Engineer, Data Product Experiences

About the role

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The Data Product Experiences team builds client-side rendering engines, high-performance charting libraries, and interactive visualizations. This role owns architecting and building high-performance client-side data rendering engines and collaborating with Designers, Product Managers, and Front-End Engineers to deliver scalable analytics dashboards.

What you'll do

• Architect and build high-performance client-side data rendering engines to visualize tens of thousands of data points
• Collaborate with Designers, Product Managers, and Front-End Systems Engineers to define cutting-edge data visualization paradigms
• Contribute to Stripe’s core design system by developing scalable, reusable visualization components and charting standards
• Design frontend integration strategies and robust API contracts to enable seamless adoption of analytics components by partner teams
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship through code reviews, pairing, and frontend engineering best practices
• Collaborate across Product, Design, Data Infrastructure, and Analytics teams to deliver high-quality, data-driven user experiences

What they're looking for

• 2+ years of relevant web front-end development or creative technology experience in a tech-forward, product-driven company
• Advanced experience with React, modern TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML5, CSS/Sass, and modern web application architecture
• Demonstrated experience building interactive web charts and visualizations using D3.js, Recharts, SVG, Canvas, or WebGL, with a focus on data density
• Proven track record of writing clear, elegant, well-tested code in a collaborative team environment
• Deep experience designing and developing web applications that function across modern browsers, screen dimensions, and devices
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
