Staff Application Security Engineer

About the role

Fingerprint is a remote, globally dispersed company that provides device intelligence to help enterprises detect and stop online fraud. You will be the founding senior engineer of the Application Security function, turning strategy into a working secure SDLC and raising the security bar across engineering.

What you'll do

• Design and build Fingerprint's secure development lifecycle and integrate security into CI/CD.
• Own and operate security tooling pipelines for SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets detection, and container/IaC scanning.
• Lead threat modeling, architecture security reviews, and vulnerability management across products and features.
• Perform hands-on security testing of the platform including API, authn/authz, injection, and abuse paths.
• Lead incident response for application-layer security incidents and define logging/alerting requirements.
• Develop secure coding training, mentor engineers, and scale security impact beyond one person.

• 8+ years in application security or related field with hands-on engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in secure SDLC, threat modeling, and vulnerability management processes.
• Experience with SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets management, and container/IaC security tooling.
• Proven ability to perform hands-on security testing of web applications, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Ability to lead security reviews, incident response, and collaborate with compliance teams.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor engineers and partner with product teams.
