Mechanical Engineer - Power Plant

About the role

The Dangote Group operates heavy industry facilities and this role owns the planning, scheduling and supervision of predictive, preventative, corrective and overhaul maintenance for power plant equipment to ensure reliable, safe and compliant operation.

What you'll do

• Schedule and manage preventive and predictive maintenance on gas turbines and balance of plant equipment
• Ensure turbine swaps and 4000 hour inspections are completed correctly and on time
• Review and improve maintenance processes and train personnel to follow procedures
• Manage a comprehensive maintenance program, forecasting manpower and equipment needs
• Evaluate, schedule and budget maintenance to optimize costs, quality, outage time and availability
• Maintain records for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS/ISO 18001 compliance and enforce safety procedures

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• 6 to 8 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance and mechanical maintenance in process plants
• Solid safety standards knowledge and regulatory compliance awareness
• Excellent time management, planning and scheduling, with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication and leadership abilities; proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office
