Head, Internal Audit & Compliance

About the role

The company is a microfinance bank licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria. This role leads the Bank's Internal Audit and Compliance functions and acts as the Chief Compliance Officer, ensuring governance, controls and regulatory compliance including AML/CFT/CPF across the organization.

What you'll do

• Lead the internal audit plan and execute audits across governance, controls and risk management
• Maintain independence between audit activities and compliance execution
• Oversee the regulatory compliance framework and AML/CFT/CPF programme
• Coordinate regulatory returns, reporting, inspections and remediation with authorities
• Provide reports to the Board Audit Committee and management with remediation actions
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures and monitoring programs

What they're looking for

• Minimum 4 years in internal audit, compliance, internal controls or financial services
• Experience in managing audit or compliance responsibilities and engaging with senior management or regulators
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Law or related
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA or equivalent preferred
• Strong knowledge of AML/CFT/CPF, regulatory compliance and financial services regulation
• Proficiency with audit, MIS, data analysis and reporting tools
