Transaction Monitoring Analyst - (100% remote Worldwide - LATAM OR APAC timezone)

About the role

The role supports Bitfinex by identifying, investigating, and mitigating financial crime risks across fiat and cryptocurrency transactions. You will work within the Compliance team to analyze alerts, assess unusual activity, and escalate high risk cases while contributing to regulatory reporting and monitoring controls.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement transaction monitoring algorithms for AML, TF, and sanctions risks
• Analyze alerts from fiat and crypto transactions and mitigate risk exposure
• Escalate real time urgent alerts according to risk appetite
• Prepare periodic reports with analysis for the Chief Compliance Officer and Product Managers
• Collaborate with AML Investigators, Product teams, and Compliance leadership
• Maintain and improve KYC/AML/CTF and Sanctions policies and processes

• Experience in the compliance field with AML/KYC/CTF knowledge
• Basic knowledge of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency practices
• Experience with blockchain analytic tools (e.g., Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM)
• CAMs/CBP designation is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently
