About the role
Supabase is the Postgres development platform built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. We are looking for a FinOps Engineer to drive cost optimization and cloud governance across AWS and GCP, working hands-on with Engineering, Finance, and Product to ship savings and build tooling that increases cost efficiency.
What you'll do
Find and ship savings across AWS and GCP by analyzing billing, usage, and cost trends to identify opportunities and implement fixes.
Build and maintain cost attribution through tagging policies and cost allocation so engineering teams can own their spend.
Automate cost governance with reporting, anomaly detection, and alerting, writing scripts and infrastructure as code to enforce policy.
Partner with engineering on architecture decisions to bring cost into design discussions early.
Work with Finance on forecasting and reporting, building dashboards that both engineering and finance can read.
What they're looking for
Strong AWS expertise and working knowledge of GCP pricing, billing structures, and cost optimization mechanics.
Automation and scripting skills with Python, Terraform or Pulumi, Lambda, or Bash.
Experience with cost and billing tooling such as AWS Cost Explorer, Cost Usage Reports, GCP Billing Reports, and BI/dashboarding.
Familiarity with Linear and Notion as the system of record for FinOps work, or willingness to learn.
Experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, or cloud governance and ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
