Data Scientist Lead

About the role

The Senior Data Scientist will lead design, development, adoption, and deployment of advanced analytics and AI solutions across Stanbic IBTC. The role oversees a team of data scientists, ensures model governance and regulatory compliance, and helps embed AI into products, processes, and decision-making.

What you'll do

• Coordinate a team of data scientists and ML/AI developers to drive AI implementation across business units
• Lead end-to-end delivery of ML models from data sourcing to monitoring
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to ensure high-quality datasets for modeling
• Ensure models comply with internal model risk guidelines, CBN requirements, and best practices
• Stay updated with global AI trends and lead PoC and pilot initiatives for new capabilities
• Work with senior leaders to identify high-impact AI opportunities aligned with business goals

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field; Master's or certifications are a plus
• 6-10 years in Data Science or AI/ML with at least 3 years in a senior technical role
• Experience in banking or financial services preferred
• Proven track record deploying ML/AI models to production at scale
• Experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure, and modern ML tooling
• Strong collaboration, governance, and stakeholder management skills
