Team Lead, Android Core Product - Lausanne, Switzerland

About the role

Speechify is a 100 percent distributed company building text-to-speech products across iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome, and Web. This role leads core Android product work, writes code, reviews code, and shapes how the team delivers features end to end.

What you'll do

• Own major Android features from decision through release with design collaboration
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback
• Unblock the team when blockers arise and align the version used across the team
• Keep shared components well tested and easy to pick up
• Lead planning and help the team focus on decisions that require input

What they're looking for

• 5+ years of software engineering with prior team leadership or major surface ownership while remaining hands-on
• Strong Kotlin expertise including Coroutines, Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture
• Experience with Android features such as background services, animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit
• Understanding of automated testing and what can and cannot be covered by tests
• Track record of building components used by others, not just for personal speed
• Ability to articulate how teams work with AI agents and drive UI/UX beyond the spec
