About the role
This role is part of our ScraperAPI team at saas.group, a SaaS portfolio helping B2B software ventures grow. You will own advanced anti-bot research and the design of repeatable, data-driven methods to detect and bypass bot defenses for enterprise-scale web scraping.
What you'll do
- Analyze how anti-bot systems detect and block traffic and design around them
- Develop a greenfield, agentic environment to test anti-bot behaviors in a repeatable way
- Own deep, independent work on complex problems with minimal hand-holding
- Collaborate with senior engineers to translate findings into reliable processes
- Communicate plans and progress clearly and participate in major incident handling as needed

- Deep understanding of HTTP, TLS, fingerprinting, proxies, headers, cookies, and browser behavior
- Strong problem solving with a methodical, hypothesis-driven approach
- Hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript, plus Python; familiarity with Postgres, Redis/Valkey, MongoDB, Puppeteer or Camoufox, Kubernetes
- Experience guiding AI coding agents and judging output quality
- Background in scraping, anti-bot, web security, reverse engineering, or related research; direct scraping experience is a plus
