Senior Software Engineer (Identity)

About the role

FairMoney is a credit-led mobile bank for emerging markets. You will own the backend systems for identity verification, KYC, and authentication within the Identity squad in our Technology Division, building secure, scalable services across markets.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for Identity, KYC, and authentication.
• Take ownership of complex technical projects from design through deployment and maintenance.
• Build reliable distributed services that support millions of customers across multiple markets.
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, Compliance and other engineering teams on identity solutions.
• Contribute to architecture, standards, code reviews, and best practices within the Identity squad, and mentor other engineers.

What they're looking for

• 5+ years of professional backend software development experience.
• Strong experience designing and building distributed, scalable backend services.
• Experience with Go, or strong experience in another backend language with a willingness to transition to Go.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, system design, testing, CI/CD, and production operations.
• Experience with complex systems where reliability, security, and scalability are critical.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
