Senior Product Manager, Payments

About the role

Automattic is a distributed company behind WordPress.com and WooCommerce. You will own a defined area within the payments product and partner integrations for WooCommerce Payments, owning execution, roadmap, and cross-functional coordination.

What you'll do

• Own product direction and execution for a key part of the payments product area with clear goals and measurable outcomes.
• Improve onboarding, checkout, refunds and disputes, payouts, reporting, and overall reliability.
• Use data and feedback to decide what to work on next and define success measures.
• Collaborate with priority payments partners to improve integrations and resolve issues.
• Keep stakeholders aligned through clear writing and communication about progress and risks.

• 7+ years in product roles with senior IC experience and cross-functional influence.
• 4+ years in payments or fintech, ideally at scale; global launches a plus.
• Strong product judgment and ability to make calls in uncertain situations.
• Experience working on high-trust, reliability‑critical systems and with engineers/designers.
• Analytical mindset with metrics, dashboards, and instrumentation expertise.
• Clear written and verbal communication in a distributed async environment.
