Senior Manager, Application Security

About the role

Consensys is a remote-first company building open, self-custodial financial tools and services for global users. This role leads application security across MetaMask and related products, setting strategy, overseeing a security-focused team, and remaining hands-on in code review and threat modelling.

What you'll do

• Lead and develop the Application Security team, including hiring and performance management.
• Set security strategy, goals, and quarterly objectives aligned with the company.
• Define and track KPIs, report progress to Security leadership, and contribute to risk reporting.
• Define security review requirements and lead threat modelling across clients, APIs, and backend services.
• Oversee secure development lifecycle, supply chain security, and integration of security testing into workflows.
• Manage vulnerability remediation, bug bounty, penetration testing, and external provider relationships.

What they're looking for

• 8+ years in application security or security-focused software engineering, with at least 2 years leading people.
• Strong code review skills in TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, or Solidity across extensions, mobile apps, and backends.
• Experience securing applications across clients and backend services, including authentication and key management.
• Proven track record building or improving an AppSec program with automated testing, vulnerability management, and developer support.
• Experience with software supply chain security, CI/CD, and dependency policies.
• Knowledge of EVM smart contract security and ability to assess external audits.
