Product Marketing Lead

About the role

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. This role owns product marketing for one product area, from market thesis through assets used by sales and campaigns, and is accountable for how the story lands and how launches convert.

What you'll do

• Own positioning, messaging, and the narrative hierarchy for your product area and maintain consistency from website to sales decks
• Lead end to end product launches with cross-functional plans, assets, timelines, and post-launch reporting
• Build and maintain the competitive picture for your area and articulate why you win
• Support enablement for sales with battlecards, discovery questions, objection handling, and demo narratives
• Conduct structured customer and community research to ground messaging in real language
• Collaborate with demand generation, content, web, and events to convert positioning into campaigns

What they're looking for

• Strong written and verbal English communication
• Proven product marketing experience in B2B software, SaaS, or open source
• Experience owning positioning and messaging for a product or portfolio
• Evidence of launches that improved adoption, pipeline, or win rate
• Ability to work with product managers and engineers and understand the product beyond the datasheet
• Ability to influence stakeholders across product, sales, and marketing without formal authority
