PGCE Assessor – Teaching Practice Faculty of Education

About the role

Lyceum College, a higher education institution, is seeking qualified professionals to serve as PGCE Assessors for Teaching Practice in the Faculty of Education. What you'll do

• Assess Teaching Practice portfolios, reports, lesson plans, reflective activities, and supporting evidence
• Ensure assessments align with institutional standards and NQF expectations
• Provide constructive academic feedback using approved rubrics and guidelines
• Verify coherence and application of pedagogical knowledge in school-based contexts
• Collaborate with programme coordinators and academic teams during the assessment process
• Meet assessment deadlines and manage revisions or reassessments as required

• Master’s degree in Education, Teacher Education, Curriculum Studies or related specialisation
• Two+ years of experience in higher education, teacher education, or related assessment roles
• Strong subject knowledge in teacher education and pedagogical methodologies
• Excellent academic assessment, writing, reviewing, and feedback skills
• Experience with distance or online education is advantageous
• Familiarity with South African higher education quality assurance frameworks
