Investment Manager

About the role

The role manages Heirs General Insurance investment portfolios and related activities to ensure compliance with NAICOM guidelines and statutory provisions. It focuses on monitoring, planning and reporting investment performance, while developing and implementing short and long term strategies.

What you'll do

• Manage in house investment portfolios including short term placements, FG bonds, euro bonds, and equity instruments
• Daily monitor money market rates, equity prices, bond yields and exchange rates
• Develop and implement long term and short term investment strategies within risk tolerance
• Assess tax position and applicability of taxable versus non taxable instruments
• Evaluate risk return trade offs per NAICOM guidelines and company policies
• Prepare monthly and weekly investment portfolio reports, cash flow forecasts and financial modelling

What they're looking for

• Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field; MBA is highly desirable
• Minimum 10 years of relevant investment experience, preferably in insurance or financial services
• Professional qualifications such as ICAN or CFA are an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian financial markets and IFRS/SEC reporting requirements
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills with excellent analytical abilities
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and decision making abilities
