Fixed Asset Accountant. DCT

About the role

The Dangote Group seeks a Fixed Asset Manager to oversee the entire fixed asset management function, including tracking, valuation, capitalization, and reporting of all assets. This role supports strategic decision making, enforces internal controls, and ensures IFRS compliant accounting across fixed and intangible assets.

What you'll do

• Approve Asset Under Construction codes and ensure proper account assignment for fixed asset related PR/PO
• Establish and monitor internal controls, procedures and documentation for accurate fixed asset recording
• Review and approve periodic impairment assessments for tangible and intangible assets
• Oversee recording of asset acquisitions, transfers, capitalization, and disposals in the accounting system
• Ensure timely closure of completed AUC projects and reconcile fixed asset subsidiary ledger with the general ledger
• Oversee depreciation calculations and posting for fixed, intangible and right of use assets

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with ICAN/ACCA or advanced stage
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, particularly IAS 16, IAS 36, IAS 23, and fixed asset lifecycle processes
• Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel
• 5+ years managing large asset registers, work in progress, reconciliations and audits
• High attention to detail, strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure
• Experience leading and developing a fixed asset accounting team
