First Mile & Last Mile Manager - Jumia (Full Time)

About the role

Jumia is a pan-African e-commerce platform offering marketplace services, logistics, and payments. The First Mile and Last Mile Regional Manager will lead pickup and delivery operations, supervise a team of operators, and drive performance and compliance.

What you'll do

• Lead and supervise a team of First Mile and Last Mile Operators to ensure timely and accurate pickup and delivery operations.
• Assign daily tasks and routes based on workload, priorities, and customer requirements.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to enhance skills, productivity, and performance.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to identify areas for improvement and recognize achievements.
• Monitor team performance and KPIs such as on time delivery, customer satisfaction, and vehicle utilization, and take corrective actions to meet targets.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Warehouse Operations, Procurement, and Customer Service to optimize logistics processes and resolve issues.

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, or a related field is a plus.
• Five or more years of experience in logistics operations, transportation, or delivery services, including at least two years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and achieve results.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
• Proficiency in using technology tools and systems for route planning, tracking, and reporting such as GPS and route optimization software.
