Cloud Platform Engineer

About the role

Supabase is an open source, developer-focused platform that provides backend services for building apps. This role owns cloud governance, platform engineering, and hands-on operations across AWS and GCP to enable safe, scalable infrastructure and self-service for engineers.

What you'll do

• Design and implement cloud governance across AWS and GCP, including IAM, account organization, access controls, and guardrails.
• Build reusable infrastructure and building blocks using Infrastructure as Code to enable safe, consistent provisioning.
• Create self-service capabilities to reduce friction for engineers within sensible boundaries.
• Own resource governance and visibility, including tagging, inventory, ownership, and cross-account billing data.
• Develop reusable security primitives such as secrets storage, KMS, certificate management, and service-to-service authentication.
• Own cloud-level networking and operational primitives including IP management, DNS, and health signals like quotas and alerts.

• 5+ years in cloud governance, platform engineering, or operations with production systems at scale.
• Experience with significant migrations such as AWS account rearchitecture, IaC adoption, or cross-cloud governance.
• Strong interest in internal platforms and self-service experiences for engineers.
• Deep knowledge of at least two areas: tooling with AWS IAM/SSO, GCP familiarity, IaC in production, and collaboration with auditors on compliance.
• Software engineering ability to write production code and drive SDLC, with clear written artifacts like RFCs.
• Experience running production infrastructure, building alerts and runbooks, and using SLOs to prioritize work.
