About the role

The Checkpoint Editor leads Media Trust’s specialist in-depth, premium journalism unit. The role owns editorial leadership, commissioning, and the production of investigations, features, fact-checking, data journalism, and visual storytelling for multiplatform distribution.

What you'll do

• Lead editorial direction, priorities, and daily operation of the Checkpoint desk.
• Generate and commission high-value enterprise stories, investigations, and documentary projects.
• Oversee investigations from conception to publication, ensuring sourcing and legal/ editorial standards.
• Develop long-form projects and coordinate with documentary teams and other desks.
• Lead fact-checking operations and verification priorities, including collaborations with independent fact-checkers.
• Promote data-led storytelling and translate complex datasets into engaging visuals and explainers.
