Engineering Manager/Team Lead

About the role

Autochek is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a software team, align on vision, and drive successful delivery of products. The role combines team management, project management, and hands on software engineering leadership to enable high performance.

What you'll do

• Manage a group of 5 to 10 software engineers, including recruitment, onboarding, growth and offboarding
• Define quarterly objectives and coach the team to achieve targets
• Provide ongoing feedback, mentorship and engagement to keep the team motivated
• Collaborate with Product Manager to build product vision and quarterly roadmap
• Organize work, break large projects into deliverables and ensure requirements, designs and specs are clear
• Monitor team performance, remove impediments, communicate progress to stakeholders

• At least 3 years of experience as Engineering Manager
• Experience coaching and mentoring teams of 4+ engineers in a product-focused environment
• Technical background in building user-facing products and large-scale applications
• Demonstrable project management experience and strong teamwork
• Problem solving with ownership, proactivity and a focus on simplicity, efficiency and performance
• Ability to operate tactically while aligning with big-picture strategy
