AI Software Engineer

About the role

IOMETE provides a sovereign data platform for the AI era, enabling customers to run data lakehouse workloads in their own trusted environments. This role owns building and maintaining AI services and the framework that runs, traces, and evaluates AI agents inside customer deployments.

What you'll do

• Contribute to and maintain AI services such as MCP Server for AI Agents, Model Gateway, SQL AI Functions, and lakehouse agents.
• Extend the platform to support more AI powered features by exposing logs, history, and metadata to AI components.
• Work hands-on with Kubernetes and Helm to deploy AI services into customer deployments.
• Collaborate with external customer engineering teams to support integrations and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Participate in design discussions on agents, model access, evaluation, and system architecture and write tests, docs, and release notes.

What they're looking for

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience or demonstrated deep systems knowledge and impact.
• Deep understanding of production LLM based systems including tool calls, structured output, retrieval, evaluation, and failure modes.
• Proficiency or strong familiarity with Python and Go; JVM based Kotlin and Java experience is a plus; production experience in any of these languages is valuable.
• Experience with distributed systems challenges such as data consistency, fault tolerance, and scheduling.
• Fluent English communication skills for working with international customers and partners.
• Based in a time zone that overlaps Amsterdam working hours (CET/CEST).
