Software Engineer - RCL

About the role

FairMoney is a mobile banking company focused on extending credit and building a platform with POS solutions for emerging markets. This Intermediate Software Engineer (RCL) role owns designing, developing, testing, and maintaining backend services that power FairMoney products, including APIs and relational databases, and collaborating with other engineers. It is a remote or in-office role with flexible work arrangements.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services powering FairMoney products.
• Build and improve secure, well-documented APIs; integrate with internal and external systems.
• Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL; write efficient SQL and ensure data integrity.
• Write unit and integration tests and participate in CI processes to ensure code quality.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data teams and own projects from development through deployment.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to improve productivity and debugging.

• 3-4 years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Golang and/or Ruby on Rails.
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL; proficient SQL.
• Strong API design and development experience, with attention to security and scalability.
• Strong testing discipline, including unit and integration testing; experience with modern workflows like Git.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills; ability to work in a cross-functional team.
