Software Engineer (Identity)

About the role

FairMoney is a credit-led mobile bank for emerging markets. You will be a Software Engineer in the Identity squad, building reliable backend systems for identity verification, KYC, authentication, and onboarding. This role is part of the globally distributed Technology Division and focuses on scalable identity solutions.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend systems for Identity, KYC, authentication, and related services.
• Contribute to technical projects from development through deployment and maintenance.
• Build and support reliable distributed systems and backend services.
• Collaborate with product, risk, compliance, and other engineering teams to deliver identity and KYC solutions.
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, reliability, and security issues, using modern engineering practices and AI-assisted tools.

What they're looking for

• 4+ years of professional backend software development experience.
• Experience building backend services and distributed systems; comfortable with Go or willing to transition to Go.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, system design, testing, CI/CD, and production operations.
• Preferred: experience in Identity, KYC, authentication, fraud prevention, onboarding, or related domains.
• Preferred: experience in fintech or financial services, familiarity with microservices and cloud platforms such as AWS; exposure to AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
