As a Principal Infrastructure Architect on the Infrastructure Architecture team, you will partner with the data engineering organization to design and govern data platforms on GCP, bringing infrastructure patterns, evaluation rigor, and cross team alignment.
What you'll do
- Establish infrastructure patterns for data workloads across streaming and messaging, operational databases, analytical stores, search, pipelines, and open table formats; ship as Terraform modules and GitOps standards.
- Build the data paved road by defining CI/CD and GitOps patterns for data jobs and pipelines, enabling safe and automated data delivery.
- Establish performance, cost, and observability patterns with monitoring, alerting, SLOs, and DR baselines.
- Review workloads with data teams and provide architecture input during design reviews and enablement sessions.
- Prototype and hand off reference implementations, write ADRs, and stay hands on through POC and initial enablement.
