Facilities Supervisor

About the role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks Nigeria nationals for the Facilities Supervisor role at the Institute’s Headquarters in Ibadan. The role owns the maintenance and supervision of screen houses and glasshouses, coordinates construction and repairs, and ensures safety, documentation, and cost tracking. The position is a 2-year renewable contract.

What you'll do

• Maintain screen houses and glasshouses to ensure function and research compliance.
• Supervise staff and casual workers engaged in maintenance and construction.
• Oversee construction of new screen houses and related infrastructure.
• Manage repairs, cleaning, fumigation, and daily inspections of facilities.
• Track materials, costs, and maintain reports on maintenance and operations.

What they're looking for

• HND or BSc in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or related field; certification in Construction Management or Facility Maintenance is an advantage.
• 3-5 years hands-on experience in facility maintenance, construction, or agricultural infrastructure management.
• Knowledge of workplace safety standards, PPE usage, and safe construction and maintenance practices.
• Training or certification in health, safety and environmental risk management.
• Experience with screen house or glasshouse maintenance and automated systems; proficiency in MS Office and, ideally, ERP or facility management software.
