Project Accountant

About the role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) seeks Nigerian nationals for the Project Accountant position at its Ibadan headquarters. The role owns financial management, coordination, reporting and controls for the I-Youth 2.0 project across Nigeria, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.

What you'll do

• Coordinate financial management and reporting for I-Youth 2.0 across three countries.
• Consolidate country financial information and prepare timely, donor-ready reports.
• Monitor budgets, expenditures, commitments and cash-flow projections to support decisions.
• Lead the preparation of periodic financial reports and support audits.
• Maintain financial controls and documentation and coordinate with procurement and country teams.

• Strong budgeting, variance analysis and cash-flow forecasting skills.
• Ability to coordinate with country finance staff and donors on reporting.
• Knowledge of financial controls, compliance and audit processes.
