Senior Software Engineer, iOS (Contract)

About the role

The Wikimedia Foundation operates Wikipedia and the Wikimedia free knowledge projects. This is a 3 month full time contract for a Senior Software Engineer, iOS on the App Growth team; the role owns delivery of medium complexity initiatives from discovery through delivery and leads iOS product implementations for a global audience.

What you'll do

• Delivery and enablement of medium complexity initiatives from discovery through delivery
• Implementation of iOS product experiences and lead system design for medium sized projects
• Quality, testing and observability to enable deeper analysis by Product Analysts
• Cross functional collaboration with product managers, designers, analysts and native app engineers
• Prioritization and alignment of outcomes, capacity and delivery timelines
• Culture and standards adherence in code review, design, testing, accessibility and observability

• Bachelor's degree and 5-10+ years of professional experience building iOS apps
• Strong Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit and familiarity with iOS architectural patterns
• Experience with iOS performance optimization to keep apps smooth and responsive
• Experience working in a self-driven lean environment
